Frase alternatives

The best Frase alternatives depend on which part of Frase you pay for. To track AI answers, Placton from $59 a month includes Claude and Grok, which Frase keeps for Scale and Enterprise. To keep writing and scoring, Surfer or NeuronWriter. Placton replaces AI Visibility, not the content engine.

The best Frase alternative for the part you actually use

Frase sells a whole content loop: research, write, score, publish, monitor, fix. Most people looking to leave lean on one or two of those steps, so start there. All prices date from November 2, 2026.

“Alternative” fits Placton only in part. It stands in for AI Visibility, not for the editor. If you came for SERP briefs, an SEO score or publishing to your CMS, your list starts with Surfer, NeuronWriter and Scalenut.

At the same price, the boxes differ. For $129 a month, Placton Growth tracks 75 prompts on five AIs, and Frase Professional 50 on three, with 40 articles. See both, side by side.

What each AI costs in Frase and in its alternatives

Frase adds AI engines plan by plan, so the useful question is not what Frase costs but what it costs to watch the AI your buyers use. Monthly billing, before tax, from each maker’s pricing page on .

The Frase price also buys articles, audit pages, publishing and everything else on the plan. Placton checks Claude, Perplexity and Grok weekly, and Frase checks every AI on the plan daily. * On paid plans. ChatGPT is read on chatgpt.com in every country Placton tracks except Venezuela and Puerto Rico, where it is asked weekly through its API.

Claude is the expensive step. Going from ChatGPT to Claude means moving from $49 to $299 a month, or from $39 to $239 billed yearly. If Claude is the only reason you look at Scale, you would be paying for 100 articles you may not write.

Starter is a two-AI plan. 20 prompts on ChatGPT and AI Overviews. Each location also uses up a prompt, so 1 question asked in 3 places costs 3 of those 20. Some pages credit Frase with eight engines, and that is the Enterprise list.

You cannot try the others first. The 7-day trial carries Professional features, yet AI Visibility runs on ChatGPT and Google AI only. Placton’s trial asks all five AIs on the first day, so you see Claude and Grok before paying.

“Google AI” means AI Overviews. On days Google shows none, Frase marks the check as no answer and leaves it out of your rate. Placton measures AI Overviews too. AI Mode is a different product that neither plan table covers, so look at Otterly.AI or Surfer if you need it.

Why people look for alternatives to Frase

Frase is not a bad product, and the reasons for leaving tend to be narrow. These four come up in what buyers wrote and in the plan table itself.

  • They use one part of the bundle

A team that only checks AI answers still pays for articles, audit pages and a CMS. A writer who only wants a score still pays for AI Visibility. Frase’s price makes sense for people who use the loop, less for those who use a step.

  • The AI they care about sits higher up

Perplexity starts at $129, Claude at $299 and Grok at a custom quote. If your buyers ask Claude, the Starter plan cannot tell you what they hear.

  • A lifetime deal ended badly

Buyers from AppSumo describe losing access after the 2026 rebuild, and Frase offered them a discount on the new platform. For those customers the search for an alternative is about trust, not features.

  • The articles disappointed

Recent Trustpilot reviews mention a complicated workflow, weak drafts, or no return in a competitive market, although others report the opposite. With 10 to 100 articles a month in the price, drafts that need heavy editing change the math.

The best Frase alternatives in detail

These alternatives to Frase in depth: what each one replaces, how it differs and where it falls short. The facts come from each maker’s own pages, since we have not been inside these products.

  1. 1 · AI tracker with a writer

Placton: the same five AIs on every plan

Placton puts the questions your buyers ask to ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Claude, Perplexity and Grok, then shows who gets named, in what order, in what tone and which pages each answer leans on. Nothing is rationed by plan: $59 buys all five AIs, while Frase reaches Claude at $299 and Grok only on Enterprise.

It suits teams that pay for Frase mostly to measure, or that already have an editor and writers and do not want a second content suite. From a gap in the answers you get a short weekly task list, built from the pages that decide that question, and a Writer that turns the question into an article or ranking you can edit and export.

  2. 2 · Content editor and AI tracker

Surfer: the closest swap for Frase’s editor

All four AIs we asked put Surfer first or second, and Frase treats it as the main rival too: it heads Frase’s own comparison page. Its Content Editor scores a draft live against the top of Google, Standard connects WordPress and Google Docs, and its Trustpilot record is stronger than Frase’s, at 4.2 from 223 reviews against 3.7 from 68.

The catch is the climb to AI tracking. Discovery has none, Standard checks ChatGPT once a week, and all five of its AIs need Pro at $219 or the tracker-only plan at $95. Claude and Grok are on no plan. Nothing like Frase’s publishing agent or hosted CMS shows up on its plan table.

  3. 3 · Content editor

NeuronWriter: the same scoring idea for far less

At $23 a month, Bronze costs less than half of Frase Starter and gives you an NLP editor, a content planner, 2 projects and 25 documents. For a solo writer who mostly wants a term list and a target score, that may be the whole job.

Past that, it stops well short of Frase. Sharing is read-only on Bronze, and Search Console, WordPress and Shopify arrive with Gold at $69. We saw no agent that publishes or refreshes pages. AI monitoring is small, at 5 questions on Bronze and 10 on Gold, and ChatGPT and Perplexity sit behind an add-on whose price only shows after you log in.

  4. 4 · Content editor for teams

Clearscope: simple grades for a team of writers

Clearscope grades drafts, works inside Google Docs and WordPress through its sidebars, and counts unlimited users and projects on every plan, where Frase charges $29 for each seat past the third or the fifth. One editor with twenty freelancers is the natural buyer.

You pay for that simplicity. $129 buys 50 tracked queries, 50 pages and 20 drafts, and Business at $399 lifts queries to 300 with drafts still at 20. Its pricing page names ChatGPT and Gemini, its Track page lists four engines, and neither says how often it asks.

  5. 5 · AI writer with weekly AI tracking

Scalenut: a bundle like Frase’s, refreshed weekly

Of the tools here, Scalenut sells the package most like Frase’s: GEO articles, optimization, keyword clusters and AI tracking behind one login. Plus at $89 adds 30 articles, auto-publishing to WordPress and Shopify, four team members and its Social Upreach and backlinks tools.

The difference is freshness and reach. Every plan refreshes weekly where Frase checks daily, Starter holds 10 prompts, and Perplexity waits for Professional at $199. Claude, Gemini and Grok are not listed. One thing to check before buying: its monthly Professional card shows 30 articles and its comparison table shows 75.

  6. 6 · AI writer and tracker

Writesonic: more prompts and articles at entry

Starter gives 50 prompts and 15 articles a month, against 20 and 10 on Frase Starter, and it adds Gemini, which Frase holds back for Scale. Tracking runs daily on every self-serve plan and articles publish to WordPress.

It costs twice as much to start, at $99. Perplexity, Claude, Grok and AI Mode are Enterprise only, so if those matter the next step is a sales call. Starter also limits you to one user and one project, and sentiment waits for Growth at $499.

  7. 7 · AI tracker only

Otterly.AI: tracking alone, at the lowest entry price

With only a handful of questions to watch, Lite is hard to beat on price: 15 prompts checked daily on ChatGPT, AI Overviews, Perplexity and Copilot, with unlimited team members, for less than Frase Starter.

Frase’s line against it is that it reports and does not write, and that is fair: there is no writer or editor. Claude is $29 more on Lite, Gemini and AI Mode $9 each, and Grok is not offered. The step after Lite is a big one, to $189 for 100 prompts.

  8. 8 · Content and AI tracking for agencies

    Rankability: wide tracking for agencies

Rankability sells content and tracking to agencies: unlimited clients and seats, an API and MCP, and 11 engines on every plan, daily, with Claude and Grok among them. No other tool on this page matches that spread at this price, and Grok put it first in its general answer below.

  9. 9 · Briefs and workflows

Content Harmony: briefs for outside writers

If you only ever opened Frase for its research and briefs, this is the focused replacement. A workflow bundles a keyword report, a brief and a grader for one page, users are unlimited, and unused credits stay valid for 90 days.

It does less on purpose. Its pricing page does not mention AI tracking, it has no writer for full articles, and it is priced by volume, climbing to $799 a month. For $10 you can try 10 workflows, with no clock running and no automatic charge afterwards.

    $50a month

    Then $99, $199, $299, $599 and $799. Enterprise from $1,000. About 10 to 16% less billed yearly.

  10. 10 · On-page optimizer

Page Optimizer Pro: exact on-page instructions

Page Optimizer Pro talks to technical SEOs: where to place keywords and variations on a page, and how long it should be, with a tracker for ChatGPT, Google AI, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity on every plan. It is the cheapest route on this page to any Claude tracking at all.

Plans count credits, and Basic’s 20 have to cover its AI features, so price Unlimited at $72 as well, with its unlimited page reports and 50 credits. Instead of a dated trial it offers a 7-day refund, and Grok is not on its list.

* On paid plans. ChatGPT is read on chatgpt.com in every country Placton tracks except Venezuela and Puerto Rico, where it is asked weekly through its API.

Other Frase competitors you will see named. MarketMuse came up in all four general answers below, but it publishes no price beyond a free plan with 10 queries, and its pricing page does not mention AI answers. Here is how it compares. Jasper, at $69 a seat, writes marketing copy for brand teams, and Koala, from $25, writes in bulk and publishes to WordPress, Shopify, Webflow and Ghost; neither tracks AI on its entry plans. Other lists add Arvow, Machined, RankUp, Keyword Insights and Rank-Hub, each on its maker’s own page, and Semrush’s writing assistant. We did not read their pricing, so they are not in the table.

If you mainly compare trackers, see Profound, Peec AI, Semrush’s AI toolkit and Ahrefs Brand Radar, the names that came up most on the tracking question.

Two tools instead of Frase: does the math work?

Several lists suggest combining tools, and none of the pages we read does the sum. Here it is, in monthly prices, against the Frase plan nearest in reach.

Frase Scale$299100 articles, 75 prompts, five AIs daily, publishing, audit, client reportsGrok

It works when you use two pieces of the loop. Measuring plus scoring your own drafts comes to $82 a month instead of $129, with Claude and Grok on top. The larger setup saves $51 a month against Scale with the same 75 prompts, trading Gemini for Grok.

It stops working when you use all of it. Frase’s case is that data, draft and publishing live together, and for a team that really runs that flow two logins are a cost. On yearly billing the gap also narrows, since Frase discounts 20% and Placton 15%. This is an option to price up, not a recommendation for everyone.

Change the question and the market changes. Ask about Frase and you get editors, with Surfer first or second every time. Ask about its tracker and you get a separate field. Surfer and Clearscope only reach that second list through Google, low down, and NeuronWriter and MarketMuse do not reach it at all. That split is why a single “top 10” serves few buyers here.

Vendor pages feed the answers. Grok opened its general answer with Rankability and cited Rankability’s own list. On the tracker question its first three were Rankfender, RankControl and WriteWorks, each with a citation to its own page on replacing Frase. One reading does not prove that publishing a list earns a mention, but on this search those lists are clearly being read.

Sources barely overlap. The four general answers cited 38 sites, and only 3 of them (Dashword, Rankability and Scalenut) appeared in more than one answer. On the tracker question it was 33 sites and 3 repeats (Frase, DeepSmith and RankControl).

Take it as a snapshot. One reading per AI, on one day, from the United States, in English. Answers shift from run to run, which is why Placton repeats each question and publishes how it treats the margin of error. Frase’s own help center recommends tracking “[Competitor] alternatives” questions for the same reason we asked this one: buyers near a decision ask them.

  • ChatGPT: read on chatgpt.com, logged out, with web search on, with gpt-6.
  • Google AI Overviews: the AI Overview Google shows above its results.
  • Perplexity: asked through its API, which always searches, with sonar.
  • Grok: asked through its API with live web search, with grok-4.3.

Each AI got the bare question, nothing added. The product’s own reader pulled out the names, and we checked them by hand: one name per vendor, in the order of the answer, leaving Frase itself out.

Frase’s plans and modules in November 2026

Frase now calls itself “the content operating system for AI search”. Lists that describe it as a brief tool are out of date, and so are the ones that call its AI tracking a side feature. It sells two things under one price.

  • The content engine

SERP research and briefs, an agent that drafts in your brand voice, SEO, GEO and EEAT scores, a site audit, clusters, backlinks and 16 content types. It publishes to WordPress, Webflow, Sanity and Wix or to its own FraseCMS, and can publish alone if you switch that on. Content Guard watches pages for Google decay.

  • AI Visibility

Daily checks with visibility, share of voice, average position and sentiment, cited sources, a buying stage for each prompt, each AI’s full answer and its searches. Alerts land minutes after a check, and Recommendations list the evidence and the steps. Crawler logs and GA4 referrals complete it. It is a fuller tracker than most lists give it credit for.

16 content types. Outlines, GEO scoring and word counts adapt to the format. The same release adds 18 target markets and Wix publishing.

  5. Jun 24

Frase Answers. A widget on your own site that answers visitors and logs what they ask as content ideas.

  6. Sep 21

A new writer. Whole articles written in one pass, with a rebuilt site audit, a Backlinks tool, GA4 AI referrals and a hosted MCP server.

  7. Oct 7

A ChatGPT app. Frase becomes an official app inside ChatGPT, replacing the manual connector.

  8. Oct 21

AI Visibility, rebuilt. Six tabs, a Recommendations tab with evidence, sentiment, tracking by location and scheduled PDF reports.

Numbers that do not match across its pages

  • Prompts. Its page against Otterly.AI, marked verified June 2026, quotes 25, 100 and 350 AI prompts. On the pricing page those figures are AI generations, and tracked prompts are 20, 50 and 75. We go with the pricing page.
  • History. That same page gives 90 and 180 days. The pricing page gives 3 and 12 months for reporting, and AI Visibility keeps its own, shorter record.
  • Logos. Its homepage shows Grok, DeepSeek and Copilot. On the pricing page all three are Enterprise only.
  • Other people’s lists. Some pages ranking for this search still quote plans from 2024, or state that Frase has no GEO tools or WordPress publishing. Both are out of date.

Frase vs Placton: what the same money buys

Placton Growth and Scale cost the same as Frase Professional and Scale on monthly billing, so the comparison is clean. For measuring, Placton gives more prompts and people at both prices, and two more AIs at the lower one. For producing content, Frase gives far more.

“A tracker only reports”: Frase’s case, answered

Frase’s comparison pages make one argument against every tracker: they stop at the report, while Frase closes the loop. It is a good argument, and it deserves a straight answer.

Inside Frase, the loop is its writer acting on its tracker. Its plan table says AI Visibility does not auto-fix. Recommendations give you the problem, the evidence and the steps, and most have a button that starts the work in Frase. If your team writes there, that is convenient. If your team writes in Google Docs, or with an agency, the button leads to a tool you do not use.

Nor is the GEO Score a citation meter. Frase’s own documentation says it measures how easily AI can extract your content, and sends you to AI Visibility to see whether AI actually cites the page. That is the right order: measure first, and treat any score as a checklist.

And Placton does not stop at the report. Three parts of the dashboard pick up where the numbers end. Frase still goes further on one count, because it can publish for you, where Placton hands you the text.

Where you are missing

Each question against each AI

The questions you track appear next to each AI, starting with the ones where nobody names or cites you. Red is no answer, orange is under half, green is half or more.

From a count you can open those answers, see who appears in your place and start a text for that same question.

A live reading for NeuronWriter, picked only to show the format: the two questions on this page, one reading each, November 2, 2026. Three AIs named it on the general question and none on the other.

Improvements

A weekly task list, with its proof

You get 3 tasks a week on Starter, 5 on Growth and 8 on Scale. Code picks each one from a closed list of 17 actions, shows the pages that decide the question and rates how solid the advice is: strong evidence, medium evidence or a bet.

Those pages get re-read each week to see whether it happened. Expect a few points over 8 weeks in answers that search, and little or nothing in closed lists. Nothing is sent on your behalf.

A task written by hand as an example, for a brand these pages leave out. The pages themselves are real: cited in the tracking answers above, and we read them on November 2, 2026.

Then the Writer drafts for that question. Pick a question you track and ask for an article or a ranking. It reads what the AIs answered, cited and searched in the background, plus the top of Google and your own site, and takes 1 or 2 minutes. It does not invent figures, customers or opinions. You edit it in place and export it to HTML, Markdown or Word, with 5, 15 or 40 texts a month by plan. Publishing a text does not guarantee a mention, in any tool.

Free Frase alternatives, and what free really gets you

“Frase alternatives free” is one of Google’s related searches. Nothing on this page gives you the whole loop for free, but the separate pieces are closer than you might think.

To see what AI says about you

To research and write

  • Google Search Console (opens in a new tab), free, for the queries and clicks you really get.
  • MarketMuse Free: 1 user and 10 queries a month, with no briefs.
  • Rytr: free up to 10,000 characters a month, for short copy rather than SEO work.
  • Koala: 5,000 free words once, no card.

To try before paying

Without a card: Placton and Frase for 7 days, and Otterly.AI for 7. Content Harmony charges $10 for 10 workflows with no time limit and no automatic billing. NeuronWriter gives 7 days once you register, Scalenut 7, and Clearscope 14 without saying whether it asks for a card. Surfer and Rankability ask for payment details at the start.

Is Frase worth it in 2026? What buyers say

The reviews split in two, and the date explains most of the split. Recent buyers are mostly happy. Long-time buyers of its lifetime deals are not.

Trustpilot. On Trustpilot (opens in a new tab) Frase held 3.7 from 68 reviews on , with 20 of them in the last 12 months. The shape is unusual: 53% five stars, 35% one star and almost nothing between. Within the last year the one-star reviews gather in the first half of 2026, and from August to October most are good, with responsive support the most frequent praise. In October one buyer reported more clicks and AI share, and another found the workflow complicated and the articles weak, and left.

Lifetime deals, the sharpest complaint. On AppSumo (opens in a new tab), where Frase sold them, it holds 4.5 from 167 reviews, but the five shown first are all one star, from February to July 2026. Buyers say they were moved to a free plan or lost access after the rebuild, some without clear notice. On February 19 Frase replied on Trustpilot that the old platform had reached its limits and offered discounted access to the new one. Its migration guide calls the move optional, with no required deadline for now. These are each side’s accounts, and we did not verify them.

The figures Frase quotes. It states 4.8 out of 5 on G2 and Capterra from 600+ reviews. We could not open either site, so we cannot say how many of those reviews predate the 2026 rebuild.

Do its scores move rankings? A May 2025 study by Ahrefs placed Frase among the very weak correlations and managed a perfect score by adding words without writing. Ahrefs sells a competing tool, and the study came before the rebuild, so treat it as dated. We know of no controlled test of Frase’s current scores, and Frase’s own advice is not to chase a perfect 100.

So is it worth it? At $39 to $49 a month with 10 articles, tracking and publishing, it is cheap for what it bundles, as long as you use the bundle. It looks less good if you only want to measure, because then you pay for articles you do not write and still wait for Scale to see Claude.

When Frase is still the right buy

Some teams should not switch at all, and the reasons have little to do with price. Stay if:

You use most of the loop

Research, brief, draft, score, publish and watch for decay in one place is the real product. Rebuilding that from separate tools costs coordination that no price table shows.

You publish at volume

Scale includes 100 articles a month, about $2.99 each on monthly billing. Nothing else on this page writes that much for that money while also tracking five AIs.

You want an agent that can publish

Frase lets each content type move from review to publishing on its own when you allow it, on every plan. If you are ready to hand that over, few tools here offer it.

Content decay is your main problem

Content Guard watches 10, 75 or 300 pages for Google drops, drafts the revision and republishes once you approve. That is a job of its own, and a good reason to pay.

You need places, not just a country

Tracking by city or region, with cited pages credited to each location, suits businesses with branches. Each place uses one prompt, so size your plan with that in mind.

You send reports to clients

Scale has client-ready reports you can export, Enterprise adds white label and a branded portal, and exports run from Professional up. If your clients expect a PDF, that settles it.

Moving off Frase in four steps

The order matters more than the tool you pick, because published pages and paid months are harder to get back than settings.

  1. Check what is paid for and what you can take

Yearly plans are billed once, at $468, $1,236 or $2,868, so the cheapest moment to move is near renewal. AI Visibility export and scheduled reports are locked on Starter, so see what your plan lets you download. Research reports export to PDF, HTML, Markdown, Google Docs and Notion.

  2. Move published pages before anything else

If your blog lives on FraseCMS, plan where it goes first, and keep the same addresses if you can. We did not read what happens to a FraseCMS site once a subscription ends, so ask Frase in writing before you cancel.

  3. Copy your prompts and rivals by hand

Tracking history does not travel between tools, Placton included, so a new baseline starts on day one. Frase suggests observing for 2 to 4 weeks before drawing conclusions, which is sensible advice wherever you land.

  4. Run both for a week

Placton’s trial needs no card: ask the same 10 questions and compare the answers side by side. All five AIs answer on the first day, then ChatGPT and AI Overviews daily while you keep visiting. On days without an AI Overview, Frase does not count that check, so the two rates will not match exactly.

Still on the old Frase app? Its migration guide says the move to the new platform is optional, that live and archived documents come across, that eligible paid subscriptions keep their price, and that folders and integrations have to be set up again. Compare from there, not from what you remember of the old product.

The short version on Frase alternatives

Most lists of Frase alternatives rank editors, and for writers that is the right frame: Surfer for a live editor, NeuronWriter for the lowest price, Clearscope for a team, Scalenut for a similar bundle. If you pay Frase to measure AI answers, the frame changes. Placton puts ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Claude, Perplexity and Grok on every plan from $59, with more prompts and people at the same price as Professional and Scale. And if you really use the whole loop, the best alternative may be to stay.

Before you decide, ask your own questions on the same day in both tools. Measuring your brand is what these products are for, and the answers differ from one brand to the next. Neither tool, nor any other, can promise you a place in an AI answer.

Questions about Frase alternatives

About Placton itself? Read the full FAQs or see every plan and price.

What is the best Frase alternative?

That turns on what you use Frase for. To measure AI answers, Placton from $59 a month tracks ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Claude, Perplexity and Grok on every plan. For a content editor, Surfer from $59 or NeuronWriter from $23. For a bundle like Frase’s at a similar price, Scalenut from $59. Prices read on November 2, 2026.

Can Placton fully replace Frase?

Only its AI Visibility part. Placton measures what the AIs answer, gives you weekly tasks and writes a text for a question. It does not score drafts for Google, publish to a CMS, watch for ranking decay or read Search Console. If you use those, keep Frase or pair Placton with an editor.

Are there free Frase alternatives?

Not for the whole loop. MarketMuse has a free plan with 10 queries a month, Rytr a free plan with 10,000 characters, and Koala 5,000 free words once. For AI answers, Placton has a free checker and a free 18-point audit, and Frase itself offers three free checkers. Google Search Console stays free for real clicks and queries.

What free really gets you

What is the cheapest Frase alternative?

For an editor, NeuronWriter at $23 a month. For AI tracking alone, Otterly.AI Lite at $29. Frase Starter itself is $49, or $39 billed yearly, and is cheaper than most. To track Claude and Grok together, Placton at $59 is the lowest on this page.

Other tracking plans under $100

How much does Frase cost?

Starter is $49 a month or $39 billed yearly, Professional $129 or $103, and Scale $299 or $239. Enterprise is quoted. Every self-serve plan has a 7-day trial with no card. Read on November 2, 2026.

Which AI engines does Frase track?

Starter tracks ChatGPT and Google AI. Professional adds Perplexity. Scale adds Claude and Gemini. Enterprise adds Grok, Copilot and DeepSeek. Google AI means AI Overviews: on days Google shows none, that check does not count. AI Mode is not on its plan table, although one of its comparison pages implies it covers it.

How many prompts does Frase track?

20 on Starter, 50 on Professional and 75 on Scale, per its pricing page. Its page against Otterly.AI quotes 25, 100 and 350, figures its pricing page gives for AI generations. Each location counts as a prompt, so 1 prompt asked in 3 places uses 3.

What happened to Frase lifetime deals?

After the rebuild, buyers on AppSumo and Trustpilot said they were moved to a free plan or lost access, some without clear notice. On February 19, 2026 Frase replied on Trustpilot that the old platform had reached its limits and offered lifetime holders discounted access to the new one. Those are the accounts of each side, and we did not verify them.

Frase vs Surfer: which is better?

For a live editor with a longer public record, Surfer. For one flow from research to publishing, Frase. On AI tracking they differ: Frase Scale at $299 includes Claude, Surfer Pro at $219 includes AI Mode, and Grok is Enterprise only in Frase and absent from Surfer. We have not used either app.

Surfer’s alternatives, compared

Which Frase alternative suits agencies?

For tracking many clients on a budget, Placton’s Agency plan is $15 per client plus prompts, from $77 a month, with no white label or client reports. Rankability from $97 has unlimited clients and seats, content projects and 11 engines. Frase Scale at $299 covers 10 domains with client-ready reports, and white label needs Enterprise.

How Placton works for agencies

Who are Frase’s main competitors?

In content, Surfer, Clearscope and MarketMuse were named by all four AIs we asked, and NeuronWriter, Scalenut and Writesonic by three. In AI tracking, Profound, Semrush, Otterly.AI and Peec AI were named by all four, and Placton competes there too. Frase’s own comparison pages also list Semrush, Ahrefs, SE Ranking and Rytr.

What does Reddit say about Frase alternatives?

We could not open Reddit with our tools, so we cannot tell you, and a thread on this ranks high on Google. The buyer comments we did read are on Trustpilot and AppSumo, summarized on this page with their dates. If Reddit weighs in your decision, read the threads yourself and check how old they are, since Frase rebuilt its product in 2026.

Can I use Frase and Placton together?

Yes. Nothing stops you, though they do not connect, so you would copy what you learn by hand. It makes sense if you want Frase for production and need Claude or Grok below Enterprise, or a second reading of the same questions from a tool that discloses how it asks each AI.

Have you used Frase and these tools?

Not from the inside. We read each maker’s pricing page and Frase’s documentation on November 2, 2026, and we asked four AIs with Placton’s own engine. We could not open G2, Capterra or Reddit. Prices change, so confirm on the official page before you decide.

All of it comes from these pages, on these dates. For each tool we looked at what it replaces, monthly and yearly price apart, written output, prompts, AIs, refresh and trial. Frase’s app stayed closed to us, as did Reddit, G2 and Capterra.
