Writesonic alternatives

The best Writesonic alternatives depend on the job you pay it for. To track AI answers, Placton starts at $59 with Claude, Perplexity and Grok on every plan, which Writesonic keeps for Enterprise. For SEO articles, Frase from $39 billed yearly. For marketing copy, Jasper at $69. Placton replaces the tracking, not the SEO suite.

Writesonic now bundles an AI tracker, an article writer and a site auditor. Start from the part you really use. Prices from each maker’s page on November 2, 2026.

How far “alternative” goes for Placton. It replaces Writesonic’s AI tracking and gives you a first draft for each question. It does not replace the SEO data, the site audits with fixes, the CMS publishing or the outreach. If those are why you pay, start with Frase or Surfer, or stay put.

The difference that decides it. At Writesonic, Claude, Perplexity and Grok sit behind a demo call. At Placton they are on the $59 plan. And $299 buys the same 18,000 answers a month, by our math, that $499 buys at Writesonic, across five AIs instead of three.

Why people look for a Writesonic alternative now

Most reviews of Writesonic describe a product it no longer leads with. It began as an AI writer and now sells itself as an AI search platform that also writes. That turn, and the pricing that came with it, sits behind most searches for Writesonic alternatives and Writesonic competitors.

  • It changed trades

Its homepage now talks about tracking AI answers, fixing gaps and proving revenue, and its comparison pages set it against Profound, Peec AI, Semrush and Ahrefs instead of other writers. If you signed up to fill a blog, a good part of the bill now pays for a tracker you may never open.

  • Writing got expensive

The cheapest plan is $99 a month for 15 articles and one user. Fifty articles cost $499, and only Growth can buy more, at $100 a month for 20. Koala gives you 45,000 words for $25, and Rytr has a free plan.

  • The AI list depends on the plan

Its site talks about 8 or 9 AI platforms, yet Starter, Basic and Growth track three: ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews. Perplexity, Claude, Grok, Copilot, AI Mode and Muse Spark need Enterprise, and Enterprise starts with a demo.

  • Some buyers complain about billing

Trustpilot shows 8 reviews from the last 12 months. Five give one star, and four of those five are about charges or fees, two of them after cancelling. A small sample of individual accounts we did not verify, but it is what recent buyers wrote.

Check the date on any list you read. Its plans changed this year and the old ones live on. One list in Google’s top 10 today still quotes a free plan with 10,000 words and a $19 Pro plan, and a May review quotes Lite at $39 and Standard at $79. None of those are in its table, which no longer sells credits either.

Writesonic alternatives for tracking AI answers

Shopping for a Writesonic GEO tool replacement? These four are built around AI answers. Placton comes first because it puts Claude, Perplexity and Grok on its cheapest plan, with no demo to book. Four questions separate them, and they apply to Writesonic as well.

  • Which AIs, on the plan you would buy? Headline counts mix plans. Ask for the list at your price.
  • How many answers, not just prompts? One answer is one question put to one AI once. Fifty prompts can mean 1,500 answers a month or 4,500, so compare that number.
  • Does it count mentions, citations or both? Being named and being linked as a source are different wins. Placton tracks citations alongside mentions, position and tone, against up to 25 rivals.
  • What happens after the number? A score alone changes nothing. See what Placton does next and how that differs from Writesonic’s Action Center.
  • AI answer tracking with a writer

    PlactonOur product

    $59/ month

    $602 a year ($50.17 a month). Growth costs $129 and Scale $299.

Best for: Anyone who went to Writesonic to find out what AI says about their brand and would rather not book a demo to see Claude, Perplexity or Grok. Every plan asks all five AIs, sets you tasks each week and drafts a text for any question where you are missing.

Weak point: No Gemini, AI Mode or Copilot. Claude, Perplexity and Grok run weekly, through their APIs. No Google SEO data, whole-site audit, CMS publishing, API or data exports.

    Replaces
Writesonic’s AI tracking. On writing, it gives you one draft per question, not a content engine.
    Includes
    20, 75 or 250 prompts; 5, 15 or 40 texts a month; 2, 10 or unlimited team members.
    AI tracked
ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Claude, Perplexity and Grok. The first two daily*, the other three weekly.
    Free trial
7 days with no card: up to 10 prompts and 1 text. When it ends you are not charged.

  • AI tracker only

    Peec AI

    $95/ month

    Then $245 and $495.

Best for: More daily volume than Writesonic Starter for about the same money: 50 prompts on three models, which Peec AI itself counts as 4,500 answers a month. Users are unlimited.

Weak point: Three models only, and its list leaves out Claude and Grok. No writer.

    The tracker
    Includes
50, 150 or 350 prompts, daily, unlimited users

$25 billed yearly. The next plans are $189 and $489.

Best for: The smallest budget that still tracks four AIs every day, with no limit on team members.

Weak point: Fifteen prompts is not many, and the next plan costs $189.

    Replaces
The tracker, at a small scale
    Includes
15, 100 or 400 prompts, daily, unlimited team members

  • AI tracker and agents for large teams

    Profound

    Custom/ month

Enterprise is quoted. The page also mentions a self-serve Agency Growth plan, with no price in the text we read.

Best for: Large marketing teams that want agents, SSO and SOC 2 and will talk to sales for them.

Weak point: Brands get no public price, and the trial covers only ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews.

    Replaces
The tracker, the Action Center and more, at company scale
    Includes
A tailored prompt plan, AI Marketer credits, unlimited seats, SSO and SOC 2

Also on these lists. AthenaHQ offers a free Essential plan with 300 credits and a Starter at $295 across 11 engines; here is how it compares. Scrunch Core costs $250 for 125 prompts and 4 AIs, with a 7-day trial; see the comparison. If you already pay for an SEO suite, look at Ahrefs Brand Radar, where custom prompts start at $50 a month, or Semrush’s AI toolkit.

Writesonic alternatives for SEO articles

If you came to fill a blog, you need a writer and a way to publish. Writesonic says its article agent runs 100+ steps and produces 3,000 to 8,000 words, and that may be worth it. But $99 for 15 articles is a high price if you never open the tracker, and these three start lower.

  • Editor and AI tracking

    Frase

    $39/ month

Billed yearly. $49 appears struck through, which looks like the monthly price. Larger plans: $103 and $239 billed yearly.

Best for: The closest in shape to what Writesonic sells, for half the entry price ($49 against $99 on monthly billing): articles, audit pages, publishing and some AI tracking in one plan.

Weak point: Ten articles against fifteen at the start, one seat and one site on Starter. It tracks ChatGPT and Google AI there.

    Replaces
The writer, the audit and, at a small scale, the tracker
    Includes
10, 40 or 100 articles, 20, 50 or 75 prompts; publishes to WordPress, Webflow, Sanity and Wix
    AI tracked

  • Content editor and AI tracker

    Surfer

    $59/ month

$49 billed yearly, with no AI tracking. Standard at $119 tracks ChatGPT weekly; Pro at $219 tracks five AIs daily.

Best for: Teams that want live guidance from the pages ranking on Google while they write, not a finished article from one click.

Weak point: The entry plan has no AI tracking, and neither Claude nor Grok is on any plan we read.

    Replaces
The writer, with a stronger editor; the tracker from Pro
    Includes
120 to 360 documents a year, a live Content Score, WordPress and Google Docs from Standard
    AI tracked
ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Mode, AI Overviews and Gemini, by plan; no Claude or Grok

  • Bulk article writer

    Koala

    $25/ month

Then $49, $99 and up. Annual billing saves 20%.

Best for: Volume on a budget: long SEO articles in bulk, pushed straight to WordPress, Shopify, Webflow or Ghost.

Weak point: It sells words and credits, not articles, and the article editor, SEO score and internal links start on the $49 plan.

    Replaces
    The writer
    Includes
45,000 words and 500 credits on Starter; publishes to WordPress, Shopify, Webflow and Ghost
    AI tracked

Publishing is where these tools really differ. Writesonic’s plan table lists only WordPress, while its writer page names Sanity, Contentful, Webflow and Ghost as well; BlogSEO’s comparison says it found setup docs only for WordPress. Frase publishes to WordPress, Webflow, Sanity, Wix or its own CMS. Koala goes to WordPress, Shopify, Webflow and Ghost, with webhooks. Surfer connects WordPress and Google Docs from Standard.

Others you will see. BlogSEO, third on Google for this search on November 2, says it auto-publishes 30 articles a month for $97 through 23 integrations and adds a backlink exchange, with AI tracking as an $89 add-on. Junia AI, which Google’s AI answer names first, shows $17 a month for 10 SEO articles and $29 for 68 on autopilot with yearly billing selected. We read both on their own pages and tested neither. The list in first place on Google on November 3, from eesel, adds three more, read on their own pages that day: Anyword, $49 a month or $39 billed yearly, for copy that comes with a predicted performance score; Writer, an enterprise platform for AI agents whose Starter plan takes up to 5 users, with a 14-day trial and no card, and no price in the text of its plans page; and eesel’s own blog writer, sold in credits, from a free plan of 100 to $299 a month for 500, with no price per article.

Writesonic alternatives for marketing copy

The Writesonic of a few years ago, the one with templates for ads, emails and product pages, has its closest heirs here. None of them will tell you what ChatGPT says about your brand, and if copy is your job, that is fine.

  • Marketing copy for brand teams

    Jasper

    $69/ month

Per seat. $59 billed yearly. Business is custom.

Best for: Marketing teams that need one brand voice held steady across campaigns, products and audiences.

Weak point: You pay per seat, and on Pro it tracks nothing in AI answers.

    Replaces
The old template writer, for teams
    Includes
1 seat, 2 brand voices, 5 knowledge assets, 3 audiences

  • Team chat and sales workflows

    Copy.ai

    $29/ month

For 5 seats. $24 billed yearly ($288). Workflow plans start at $1,000 a month, billed yearly.

Best for: A small team that wants OpenAI, Anthropic and Gemini models in one place at a flat price.

Weak point: The company now sells sales and marketing workflows, and the step up from chat is $1,000 a month.

    Replaces
Everyday writing in a shared chat
    Includes
Unlimited words in chat, OpenAI, Anthropic and Gemini models, 5 seats

  • Budget writer

    Rytr

    Free/ month

Free up to 10,000 characters a month. Lite is $9, Personal $19 and Pro $49; yearly billing saves 20%.

Best for: Anyone who writes short pieces and watches every dollar: 40+ use cases and 30+ languages on the free plan.

Weak point: Its pricing page lists no SEO or AI tracking, and the product now leans toward relationship follow-up as much as writing.

    Replaces
Short copy, at almost no cost
    Includes
Unlimited characters on Lite, 40+ use cases, 30+ languages

Do you need a tool at all? ChatGPT and Grok both put Claude on their lists of alternatives. If you can do the research and the SEO yourself, a chat assistant may be enough: Claude Pro is $20 a month, or $17 billed yearly, on its pricing page. ChatGPT’s pricing page refused our reader, so we quote no price for Plus. What you lose is the workflow: no research on your market, no brand memory across a team and no publishing.

Also named. Anyword came up in three of the five AI answers below. It starts at $49 a month, or $39 billed yearly, with a 7-day trial limited to 2,500 words, and AI tracking is absent from its pricing page.

What five AIs name as Writesonic alternatives

The lists in Google’s top results tell you what their authors think. To see what the AIs themselves say, on we put one plain question to ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Claude, Perplexity and Grok, using Placton’s engine: “best Writesonic alternatives”.

  • 4

tools named by all five: Frase, Jasper, Copy.ai and Rytr. All four are known for writing, not for AI tracking.

  • 2 of 5

AIs, ChatGPT and Grok, named no tool built only for AI tracking, even though that is what Writesonic now leads with.

  • 40

sites cited across the five answers. Only 2 appear in more than one answer: eesel and Frase, and both sell a writer.

  • 3

tools named by Google’s answer alongside a page from their own site: Junia AI, Honeyb and Prefer.

Named by one AI: Grammarly (Grok), Notion (Grok), Honeyb (Google), Clearscope (Claude), Prefer (Google), Sudowrite (Grok), NeuronWriter (Claude), Perplexity (Grok), Scrunch (Perplexity), Koala (Claude), QuillBot (Grok).

The answer depends on how the AI reads the question. Google, Claude and Perplexity split their answers by job and brought up trackers such as Peec AI, Profound and Otterly.AI. ChatGPT and Grok listed mostly writers. If you are replacing the tracker, say so in the question.

A vendor’s own page can shape the answer. Google’s answer named Junia AI, Honeyb and Prefer while citing a page from each of their sites, and ChatGPT and Perplexity both named Frase and cited Frase’s site. One reading proves no cause, but it is a fair reason to look at who wrote the page an AI leans on. Claude’s answer gave the same warning itself.

Take it as a snapshot. A single run per AI, from the United States, in English, on one date. Ask again tomorrow and some names will change, so Placton repeats every question and publishes its margins of error.

Answers a month are daily answers times 30, our math. A fair usage policy applies; it gives no figures and says access can be limited with or without notice.

  • Starter’s figures leave a question. Its agency table defines answers as prompts × models × runs. That fits Basic (100 × 3 = 300) and Growth (200 × 3 = 600). Starter lists 50 prompts, three AIs and 50 answers a day, where the same sum gives 150, and the FAQ on platforms names only Basic and Growth. So ask how Starter samples its AIs before you buy.
  • The count of AIs moves from page to page. Eight on its homepage and tracker page, nine on pricing, “ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and 7 more” on the agencies page. At any self-serve price it is three, even though the pricing page’s own description mentions nine AI platforms and self-serve from $99 in the same line.
  • The useful extras sit high up. Sentiment starts at Growth. The Action Center is a trial there and only complete on Enterprise, along with alerts, Brand Explorer, Prompt Explorer, Page Tracker, shopping and GA4.
  • Every plan does get a lot. Daily refresh, AI bot analytics, ad monitoring in ChatGPT and Google AI, Search Console, WordPress, and data from Keyword Planner, Google results and Reddit, with automatic fixes in the site audit. If you use all of that, the bundle can be fair value.
  • What it says about itself, unverified. It says it reads each AI’s web interface like a real user, not through APIs. It claims 10,000+ teams and 2 billion AI conversations in its dataset, and that every fix is measured at day 14 and day 28.

Can two tools replace Writesonic for less?

Its pitch is one platform instead of three. So we priced the split: a tracker plus a writer, on monthly billing, at each Writesonic budget. In every row, Placton with Koala costs less, and you get Claude, Perplexity and Grok.

Growth$499: three AIs, 200 prompts, 18,000 answers a month, 50 articles, 3 users$398: five AIs, 250 prompts, 18,000 answers a month, 40 drafts plus 250,000 words, unlimited members$428: five AIs, 250 prompts, 40 drafts plus 40 articles, 250 audit pages, CMS publishing

What you gain. Claude, Perplexity and Grok; more people; sentiment and weekly tasks at every price; and at the top end, $101 a month left over with 250 prompts against 200. Writesonic keeps the edge on prompts at the two lower budgets: 50 against 20 on Starter, and 100 against 75 on Basic.

What you lose. One login. Audits of up to 2,500 pages with automatic fixes, AI bot analytics, ad monitoring, agent runs and Gemini. Koala counts words, so articles depend on their length. Frase Professional also tracks ChatGPT, Google AI and Perplexity, which overlaps with Placton.

Do trackers stop at the dashboard? What Placton does next

Writesonic’s comparison pages say every other tool stops at the dashboard while it does the work. Placton sits in between: it hands you the gap, the task and a first draft, and you ship them.

Where you are missing

A row per question, a chip per AI

Questions where no AI brings you up come first. Each chip says how many of that AI’s answers name or cite you, in red, orange or green, and the line below shows who appears in your place.

From any row you can open those answers, or start a text aimed at that one question.

Real data: this view for Peec AI on the question above, one reading per AI, November 2, 2026.

Improvements

Weekly tasks, with the pages behind them

Starter gets 3 tasks a week, Growth 5 and Scale 8. Code, not a model, chooses each task from a fixed catalog of 17 actions and says how strong the evidence is. A model only drafts why it matters.

The pages get re-read each week to see whether anything changed. Realistic gains are small: a few points over 8 weeks, in answers that search. Unlike the Action Center, Placton sends nothing and changes nothing for you.

An example for a brand tracking this question, laid out by hand. The three pages are real: they appear in the answers above, and we read them on November 2, 2026.

Writer

A draft for one question, with gaps for your facts

It builds on what the AIs answered to that question, the sources they cited and searched, Google’s top results and your site. Facts only you hold are left as highlighted blanks, so it never makes up figures, customers or opinions.

You get an article or a ranking in 1 or 2 minutes, edit it right there, and take it away as a copy or as HTML, Markdown or Word. Starter includes 5 texts a month, Growth 15 and Scale 40, and publishing one does not guarantee a mention.

Example data: written to show the format. The marked gap is yours to fill in.

Is Writesonic free? What to check before the trial

There is no free plan on its table. There is a trial, and a few things worth checking before you start it.

What Writesonic says. Its pricing page reads “Start free. No credit card needed.” and its FAQ says the same. Other pages offer 7 days, and the FAQ promises a 7-day refund. The plan table does not state the trial’s length.

So, before you accept: read the total on the checkout, not the figure on the plan card. Note the date of the first charge. Pick monthly if you are not sure, because $99 a month with an exit beats paying $948 for the year upfront.

For comparison. Frase and Otterly.AI each state 7 days with no card on their pricing pages. Placton’s trial is 7 days with no card, and it never turns into a paid plan on its own.

Writesonic reviews: high scores, older voices

High scores, but most of them describe the old writer, not the AI search platform you would be buying today.

Trustpilot. Its page (opens in a new tab) showed 4.6 from 5,763 reviews on , but only 8 of them from the last 12 months, so the score mostly reflects earlier years. Those 8 split sharply: 5 give one star, mostly over charges and fees, while the others praise support and useful ideas, or find it decent but overpriced. Trustpilot notes that the company has not replied to negative reviews.

G2 and Capterra. Writesonic’s site counts 2,031 G2 reviews and 2,102 on Capterra. G2 refused our reader; BlogSEO’s October comparison quotes 4.7 from 2,144 and says price is its most frequent complaint. The Capterra excerpts (opens in a new tab) we could read praise speed and ease of use, and complain about credit limits, price and output that needs checking. The dated excerpts we saw are from 2025 and talk about a writer with credits, a model its plan table no longer sells.

Reviewers. NoGood’s March review, from an agency that works closely with a rival called Goodie, rates it well for drafts in volume and less so for accuracy, and reports that some users find its GEO advice broad.

What we could not read. Reddit, where buyers tend to be franker, and G2’s reviews themselves. And we have not used the paid dashboard, so none of this is a judgment of ours on the product.

Writesonic alternatives for agencies

Writesonic’s pitch to agencies is strong: 20 pitch projects a month, each running 1 to 7 days, with shareable reports and a one-click move to an ongoing client. What it does not show on its pricing page is a price. It does say an ongoing client costs from $150 a month.

Scroll sideways to see every column.

What agencies would pay in Placton, Writesonic and Frase for 5, 10 and 25 clients; read November 2, 2026

25 clients, 750 prompts$1,425From $3,750 a month, plus the plan, whose price is not publicEnterprise, custom

Placton’s price is $15 per client plus prompts in tiers, shown on the page. It is not an exact match: Writesonic does not state how many prompts an ongoing client includes, and its agency plans add pitch audits, white label on Agency Enterprise and a strategist. BlogSEO’s comparison quotes Agency Starter at $250 a month on monthly billing, which we could not confirm on Writesonic’s own pages.

Placton has no white label and no combined client dashboard, so an agency that resells branded reports should look elsewhere. Here is how the Agency plan works.

Leaving Writesonic in the order that saves money

Nothing here takes long. The order is what saves you money, since a yearly plan is already paid.

  1. Find your renewal date

Its FAQ says downgrades and cancellations take effect at the next billing cycle. If you paid for the year, that money is spent, so plan the move around that date. It also promises a 7-day refund, which we have not tested.

  2. Copy out what you will miss

Write down your prompts, competitors and brand voice notes. Its tracker page mentions PDF and CSV exports, so pull your history while the account is open. Articles already on your site stay where they are.

  3. Run the new tool beside it for a week

Pick ten questions and put them in both. Placton’s trial takes up to 10 prompts with no card, and it asks all five AIs on the first day. Expect different numbers even for the same question: answers move between runs, so judge the trend and the reasons, not one reading.

  4. Accept a fresh start on history

Nothing imports into Placton, so your charts begin at the first reading. If you watch Gemini today, note that Placton has no equivalent.

Good reasons to keep Writesonic

Some teams get full value from the bundle. If these describe you, keep paying for it:

You use most of the bundle

Tracking, articles, audits and agents under one login save real time. If your team opens all of them each week, splitting them up costs more than it saves.

Gemini matters to your buyers

It sits on every Writesonic plan and Placton does not track it. On Enterprise you also get Copilot, AI Mode and Muse Spark.

You want every AI refreshed daily

Writesonic refreshes the AIs in your plan every day. At Placton only ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews run that often; Claude, Perplexity and Grok run once a week.

You publish long articles straight to WordPress

Growth gives you 50 articles a month with one-click publishing. Placton’s largest plan gives you 40 texts, which you copy or export to HTML, Markdown or Word.

You want software to run the fixes

The Action Center drafts outreach and rewrites, and its audits apply fixes where they can. Placton tells you what to do and leaves the doing to you.

Your company requires SSO or SOC 2

Writesonic lists SSO, SOC 2 Type II and HIPAA on Enterprise, and white label on its top agency plan. Placton offers none of these.

Which Writesonic alternative should you pick?

The best Writesonic alternatives start from the job, so name it first and the list gets short. If you pay Writesonic to learn what AI says about your brand, Placton is the direct swap: Claude, Perplexity and Grok from $59, weekly tasks and a first draft where you are missing. If the budget is everything, Otterly.AI. If you want daily volume on three models, Peec AI.

If you pay it to fill a blog, Frase is the closest in shape and Koala the cheapest. If you pay it for copy, Jasper for a team or Rytr for yourself. And if you use the whole bundle every week, you may gain little by leaving.

All these alternatives to Writesonic are only as good as what they show for your own brand, so try them on your own questions. Compare Placton’s plans or start the 7-day trial below.

How we chose these Writesonic alternatives

A tool made the list if it replaces one job Writesonic does today and we could read its own pricing page on the day we wrote this. We read them; we did not sign up and use them.

  • What we compared. The job each tool does, its entry price, the AIs on the plan at that price, how many prompts and answers you get, how text gets published, and the terms of the trial.
  • What we left out. Scalenut came up in two AI answers, but its pricing page was not clear enough to quote here. Grammarly, Notion, Sudowrite and QuillBot came up once each, from Grok, and do different jobs. There are no star ratings here: we did not use these tools, so a rating would be invented.
  • What we could not see. Writesonic’s paid dashboard, G2, Reddit and ChatGPT’s pricing page.

What buyers ask about Writesonic alternatives

About Placton itself? Read the full FAQs or see every plan and price.

What is the best Writesonic alternative?

It depends on what you pay it for. To track AI answers, Placton from $59 a month, with Claude, Perplexity and Grok on every plan. Frase, from $39 billed yearly, comes closest if you want articles, audits and some tracking together. For bulk SEO articles, Koala from $25. For marketing copy, Jasper at $69 per seat. Prices read on November 2, 2026.

Who are Writesonic’s main competitors?

Writesonic competitors fall into three groups, because it does three jobs. In AI tracking: Placton, Profound, Peec AI, Otterly.AI, AthenaHQ, Scrunch and the AI add-ons from Semrush and Ahrefs. In SEO content: Frase, Surfer, Koala and Junia AI. In marketing copy: Jasper, Copy.ai, Anyword and Rytr. Its own comparison pages only name AI tracking and SEO suites, which tells you where it now sees the fight.

What are some apps like Writesonic?

The closest in shape, with writing and AI tracking under one login, are Frase and Surfer. If you only used it for AI chat and templates, try Copy.ai, Jasper or Rytr. If you only used its tracker, try Placton, Peec AI or Otterly.AI.

Is Writesonic free to use?

Not for good. Its plan table has no free plan, and the cheapest plan is $99 a month. Its pricing page says you can start free with no credit card, and other pages of its site offer a 7-day trial.

Does Writesonic need a credit card for the free trial?

Writesonic says no: its pricing page reads “Start free. No credit card needed.” Some of its pages offer 7 days and its FAQ promises a 7-day refund, but the plan table does not state the trial’s length. Before you accept, read the total on the checkout screen and the date of the first charge.

How much does Writesonic cost?

Starter is $99 a month, Basic $249 and Growth $499. Billed yearly they drop to $79, $199 and $399 a month, with 12 months paid upfront: $948, $2,388 and $4,788. Enterprise and the agency plans show no price on its pricing page. Read on November 2, 2026.

Is Writesonic a good company?

We can only report what is public. Trustpilot showed 4.6 from 5,763 reviews on November 2, 2026, with only 8 from the last 12 months, 5 of them one star, and it notes the company has not replied to negative reviews. Writesonic, Inc. lists a San Francisco address, 10,000+ teams by its own count, and SOC 2 Type II, HIPAA and GDPR on Enterprise. We have not used its paid product.

Does Writesonic track Claude, Perplexity and Grok?

Only on Enterprise, which starts with a demo. Starter, Basic and Growth track ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews. Placton asks Claude, Perplexity and Grok weekly on every plan, from $59, and does not track Gemini.

What is the best free alternative to Writesonic?

For writing, Rytr: free up to 10,000 characters a month with no end date. Koala gives 5,000 free words once. For AI tracking we read no full free plan: AthenaHQ’s Essential gives 300 credits, and the rest are trials. If you first want to see whether AI can read your site, Placton’s audit is free, with no signup.

Run the free audit

What is a cheaper alternative to Writesonic GEO?

Otterly.AI Lite at $29 tracks four AIs daily with 15 prompts. Placton Starter at $59 tracks five with 20 prompts, two daily and three weekly. Peec AI Starter at $95 is close to Writesonic Starter in price, with 4,500 answers a month against about 1,500.

More plans under $100 a month

Can Placton fully replace Writesonic?

No, only part of it. It replaces the AI tracking and adds weekly tasks and a first draft per question. It has no Google SEO data, whole-site audit, CMS publishing, outreach or API. If you use those each week, pair Placton with a writer such as Frase or Koala, or stay where you are.

Does Placton publish to WordPress?

No. Its Writer hands you text: you edit it, then paste it into your CMS or download it as HTML, Markdown or Word. Nothing goes live or changes on your site without you.

Can I move my data from Writesonic to Placton?

There is no import. Copy your prompts and competitors by hand, and your history starts again at the first reading.

Writesonic or Jasper: which is better?

They now do different jobs. Jasper Pro at $69 per seat is for on-brand marketing copy, with GEO agents only on Business. Writesonic from $99 is mainly AI tracking with articles attached. Pick by the job, and note that we have used neither.

Where do these figures come from?

From each maker’s own pages, read on November 2, 2026, and from one reading of five AIs that same day. We never signed up to Writesonic, so its paid dashboard is unseen. G2 and ChatGPT’s pricing page refused our reader, and we could not reach Reddit. Plans move quickly, so confirm on the maker’s page before paying.
